Narberth made it 16 wins out of 16 in Admiral Championship West as they defeated Ammanford 47-10 with a bonus point to  move to within one win of guaranteed promotion.

Dean James, Aled Rees, Tom Clarke, captain Tom Powell and Roy Osborn were on the scoresheet for Narberth, who were also awarded two penalty tries. Jon Rogers kicked four conversions. Jed Anthony scored for Ammanford. Ryan Williams converted and kicked a penalty.

Their latest maximum keeps the Otters 12 points clear of Brecon – who were the big winners of the day as they racked up double figures for tries in a 73-0 thrashing of Maesteg Quins.

Logan McIntosh, Jake Crockett and Ben Griffin all bagged try braces, with Tom Richards, Sam Jones, Geraint Powell, Geraint Workman and a penalty try completing the romp. McIntosh added the extras to eight of them.

Brecon have a game in hand on Narberth while Llangennech remain only a point further back in third after running out 48-15 winners at Ystalyfera.

There was a hat-trick for Iestyn Jones along with other Llangennech tries scored by Sam Richards, Tom Davies, Callum Jenkins and Jordan Saunders. They were also awarded a penalty try. Steff Marshall kicked three conversions.

Bonymaen edged their derby clash with Dunvant thanks to tries from Joe Yeates, Steffan Pryce-Griffiths and Lawrence Thomas, with the latter sending over two conversions. Crymych got the better of Tata Steel 29-13 and while Newcastle Emlyn won at Trebanos 21-17.

In the East Division, Bargoed moved back to within two points of current leaders Cardiff Met after they beat Newbridge 27-3. Ashley Norton and Dai Evans both scored twice with Geraint Edmunds adding a fifth try for Bargoed. Josh Prosser kicked a conversion after Eamonn Rees had earlier kicked Newbridge ahead.

Bargoed still have two games in hand on Cardiff Met – who saw their game at St Peter’s postponed due to the weather, as was Rumney against Beddau. Bedwas’ game with Treorchy was called off by the latter, who had to postpone due to “a high number of injuries and head knocks”.

Ystrad Rhondda were victorious 34-12 at Glamorgan Wanderers courtesy of a Cole Morgan brace and tries from Tom Foulkes, Lucas Welsh, Mason Roderick. Rhys Truelove kicked three conversions and a penalty.

Cross Keys defeated Penallta 38-22. Ralph Miller scored two of Keys’ six tries with Dan Buffrey, Laurence Donnolly, Connah Vaughan and skipper Harvey Reader also going over. Adam Tetley converted four of them.
