Leaders Narberth surrendered their proud unbeaten record in Admiral Championship West after going down 25-20 at Brecon.
Having started the season with 19 straight victories, 17 of those in the league, it’s now back-to-back defeats for the Otters. A week on from suffering WRU Championship Cup semi-final heartache against Ystrad Rhondda, Narberth were defeated again at Parc de Pugh.
Sam Jones, Jake Crockett and Tom Richards got the Brecon tries with Dion McIntosh adding two conversions and two penalties to move them up into second and now four points behind the Otters with four matches to play.

Kyle Hamer, skipper Tom Powell and Ilan Phillips were Narberth’s try scorers, while Jonathan Rogers kicked a conversion and a penalty. The win also took Brecon above Llangennech, who were not in league action.

Fourth placed Bonymaen beat bottom side Tata Steel 40-23. Zach Pearce helped himself to two tries with Rhys Leonard, Gareth Andrew and Joe Yates also crashing over for Bonymaen. Lawrence Thomas added the conversions.

Maesteg Quins and Ystalyfera shared the spoils after they drew 35-35, in a match that saw Fera head coach Gareth James make his 400th appearance for the club.

Trebanos picked up a 27-20 bonus point win on the road at Newcastle Emlyn. Iestyn Lewis was at the double with further tries from Josh Ferriman and Cerith Davies securing all five points. Rhys Harris kicked two conversions and a penalty.

In Championship East, Ystrad Rhondda warmed up for Sunday’s Championship Cup final with Bargoed at the Principality Stadium by beating St Peter’s 29-7.

Cole Morgan’s brace along with scores from Thomas John, Callum Phillips and Josh Williams rounded off a five-star performance from the cup finalists. Rhys Truelove sent over two conversions.

St Peter’s, who were heavily impacted by injury and unavailability, had four players making their first XV debut. Joe Davies got their try, converted by Tom Francis.
Meanwhile, Matthew Jefferies, twice, Stuart Vokes, Ethan Evans and Jordan Reames-Williams were on the scoresheet as Newbridge won 37-22 at Penallta.

Newbridge were also awarded a penalty try with Robbie Turley kicking five points. Will Keep ran in two tries for the Pitmen with Elliott Keep also scoring with Lewis Stevens kicking two conversions and a penalty.

Rumney edged out Beddau 28-27, winning with a last play penalty, while Cross Keys recorded a 33-24 triumph at Bedwas.
