The Youth section of the tournament will start proceedings on Friday night with home side Pontypridd hoping to graduate from being Plate winners last summer to Cup champions 12 months on.

Merthyr were the overall winners in 2023, but are not among the 10 teams entered for this year’s competition. Pionty will be battling against two teams from Tondy Youth and sides from Ebbw Vale, Gilfach Goch, St Alban’s, Llantwit Fardre, Ynysybwl, Treorchy and Newport HSOB.

Saturday is dedicated to the senior clubs with all three title winning clubs from last year – St Peter’s (Shield), Llanwit Fardre (Plate) and High Motive Commandos (Cup) – back for more. They will be joined by the following teams: USW, Caldicot, Cynon Crusaders, Cherubs, Cilfynydd, Canton and Durbins Devils.

High Motive Commandos beat Cynon Crusaders 26-7 in last year’s final and are based around the Pontypridd squad.

The U16 tournament takes place on Sunday. Morriston won’t be back to defend their title, but St Alban’s, with two teams, will be hoping to upgrade their Plate win in 2023 to a Cup triumph. Battling against them will be Bridgend Athletic, Talywain, Porth, Maesteg Quins, Beddau, Llanharan, Caerleon, Llantwit Fardre and Pontyclun.

The 2024 schedule is as follows:
Friday 26 July – Youth Rugby 7s Tournament, under lights first match 6.00pm
Saturday 27 July – Men’s 7s Tournament, first match 1.00pm
Sunday 28 August – U16s 7s Tournament, first match 11.00am

The Clubhouse will be open from 5.00pm on Friday and 10.00am on Sunday. Please note that on Saturday refreshments will only be available from inside the Grandstand Bar due to a function in the Clubhouse.

The price of entry is £5.00 per person on each of the three days. Please note that it is cash only.
