Hugh Gustafson’s Swansea side had to go through the end of season promotion/relegation play-off last season to hang onto their top tier status, but comfortably beat Newcastle University in the end.
Now they want to get off to a flying start against the Archers, who were once again the top Welsh team in the league. Both teams have a lot of changes from last season.
Cardiff University kick-off at home against Hartpury and will be hoping to use the game as a build-up to the first Cardiff clash against Cardiff Met in Round 2 on 2 October.
