Round Up: ASDA Leagues West

The Wanderers welcome back Blues centre Dafydd Hewitt into the squad for Saturday's clash with Pontypridd at the Memorial Ground.

Tonmawr now have three games in hand after their weekend fixture was postponed, following a traffic accident involving players of opponents Carmarthen Athletic; no one was injured in the accident.

Tonna and Maesteg Quins both improved their chances of avoiding the drop with important wins. Maesteg Quins edged a nail-biting clash against Penclawdd 10-9 while Tonna won 16-13 against fellow strugglers Seven Sisters, now six-points adrift at the bottom of the table.


The battle to take their place from ASDA League Three East remains up in the air after Aberystwyth, Llangefni and Tumble all wracked up 30-point victories.


Heol-y-Cyw tightened their grip on ASDA League Three South West with a comfortable 47-10 win over Banwen though Aberavon Quins rattled up the biggest win, 47-0 over Brynaman. Second-placed Mumbles secured an important 16-8 win at third-placed Tondu.


Llanybydder opened a commanding ten-point lead at the top of ASDA League Four West courtesy of a 46-12 win over Hendy while second-placed Tenby United slumped 19-3 at Crymych. BP Llandarcy saw off leaders Briton Ferry 21-13 to return to the top of ASDA League Four South West while Glynneath stayed in touch with a 48-14 win over Alltwen.


ASDA League Five East pace-setters Tycroes fell to only their second defeat of the campaign after they were undone 37-13 at Aberaeron while ASDA League Five South West leaders Ystradgynlais eased to a 46-3 win over Gowerton.
