Preview: Principality Premiership
Only Newport can prevent Rowland Phillips’s Neath notching a record-breaking third successive championship.
At the other end of the table the relegation dog-fight is in the final round with the top flight’s strugglers scrabbling for survival.
Cross Keys face travelling Bridgend in their last game of the season with both sides needing three points to move out of the relegation zone. The Ravens are one point ahead of second from bottom Cross Keys but hold a game in hand.
Fourth from bottom Maesteg go head to head with Aberavon in the final game of the season. A win would see the Old Parish assured of their top flight status next term while the Wizards, with two games in hand, will be keen to finish as far up the table as possible.
At Rodney Parade second placed Newport play host to fourth placed Pontypridd needing 15 tries to prise the crown from champions-elect Neath. A tall order for the Black and Ambers, especially as Simon King’s Pontypridd will be no pushovers with second place up for grabs.
At Eugene Cross Park third placed Ebbw Vale take on Llanelli knowing a win could see them into second place if Newport slip-up against Pontypridd.
Having led the league for much of the season the Steelmen look to have been pipped to the post by Neath and must fight off Newport and Pontypridd for second spot.
