The hosts defied their visitor’s lofty league position as they streaked into 22-10 half-time lead with fullback Jamie Murphy and debutant centre Gareth Dyer going scorching over and it didn’t get much better for the second-placed outfit after that as Mark Davies and Gareth Jenkins completed the bonus-point rout for the home side.

Felinfoel meanwhile, had no such troubles as they thumped Cwmavon 33-12 while third and fourth placed Carmarthen Athletic and Mumbles both moved level on points with Loughor after wins over Penclawdd and Tumble respectively.

Athletic were thankful to tries from Geraint Rees, Darren Simpson, Steve Davies and Jack Tremlett in their 38-22 victory while Mumbles too were in fine form, running in five tries in their 39-19 triumph.

Division Three West saw first and second clash as leaders Ammanford welcomed Aberystwyth to town and it was the visitors who walked away with bragging rights after outscoring their hosts three tries to nil in a 19-6 triumph.

Barrie Thomas, Paul Stubbs and Eiffion Gwynne were the heroes with a try apiece after a monumental forward effort had laid the platform for victory, yet despite the win, Ammanford remain in pole position for the title holding as they do, a seven point advantage and a game in hand over their rivals.

Laugharne stayed in the hunt with an eight-try, 50-20 rout over Pembroke Dock Quins.
