Cardiff Blues’ skipper Paul Tito and full-back Ben Blair, together with Scarlets’ international prop Iestyn Thomas, are likely to be part of a star-studded squad that also includes global names such as All Blacks Doug Howlett, Jerry Collins and Luke McAlister, Wallabies Rocky Elsom and Justin Harrison, and England’s Martin Corry and Josh Lewsey.

Blair played for the Baa-Baas in the match to celebrate the opening of Parc y Scarlets last January, while Tito and Thomas will be making their debuts for the famous touring club.

Blues’ director of rugby David Young will be in charge of the coaching and assisted by Mike Catt.

Other confirmed names for a tour that features games against England at Twickenham on 30 May and Australia at Sydney Football Stadium on 6 June include former rugby league star Sonny Bill Williams, Samoan centre Seilila Mapusua and three Frenchmen, Dimitri Yachvili, Sebastien Bruno, and Serge Betsen.

A Barbarian spokesman said, “We are breaking new ground this year with Australia becoming the twenty-third country visited by the club. It will be a tough test and we are assembling the strongest possible squad. Several other players are being confirmed this week and will be announced shortly.
