After building a 14-3 lead by half time Neath’s sterling defence held a spirited Morgannwg team at bay in the second half. For Neath centre Ryan Evans was Man of the Match linking strong running with excellent defence.
Ashley Davies, Stef Lewis and Rhys Williams were try scoeres for the winners with Rhodri Coles adding three conversions while for Morgannwg, Lloyd Chalk crossed the whtiewash with Lewis Williams knocking over three penalties and a conversion.
In Llanelli Sir Gar beat Gwent 30-7. This match was played in difficult conditions where strong winds brought heavy showers.
Playing with the wind Sir Gar built a 13-0 lead in the first half. In the second spell the Sir Gar pack took charge early on and laid the path for two crucial tries. While Gwent hit back from 25-0 down to put some pressure on the Sir Gar defence their only reward was an interception try by Ethan Davies which he duly converted.
The Sir Gar team ended the match with powerful prop Gareth Thomas scoring a try to give the Llanelli based team a bonus point. The foundation for Sir Gar’s success was a strong pack well led by Curtis Morris.
Curtis Morris, with a brace, and Aaron Evans scored the victors other tries with Nico Setaro kicking two conversions and a penalty while Jordan Williams added a penalty.
In the third match at Narberth the visitors from Bridgend College overwhelmed the newly formed Pembrokeshire College team 73-5.
Whilst the home team pack competed well the extra pace and experience of the Bridgend backs led to an avalanche of 10 tries for the visitors with Adam Williams scoing the only try of the match for the vanquished.
