The reigning champions fell to a 32-28 loss to Newport Gwent Dragons last Friday, to put a major dent in their play-off hopes.
Jones admits the loss was a major disappointment but insists the Ospreys will need little motivation for the must-win clash with the league-leaders.
“All credit to the Dragons, they did a job on us at the contact area,” said Jones.
“The first 60 minutes we were pretty poor but in the last 20 were turned it around and started to do a bit better with the ball.
“It’s frustrating because you come off the field, knowing you haven’t turned up and had a job done on us.
“We are kicking ourselves, it’s not just the last game but the last three games. We lost to Edinburgh, drew with Cardiff Blues and then lost to the Dragons and it’s not the form to get a place in the top four.
“Sometimes what looks like the hardest times from the outside times are the easiest inside the camp because you just go back to basics.
“We have to do that this week and take a hard look at ourselves and it really is that simple. There are no great words needed because we just have to get back to basics.
“It’s about playing rugby as it should be played and not doing anything to fancy.”
Jones believes the Ospreys, who currently lie fourth in the league, are now dependant on other results going their way. But he is confident the Ospreys can uphold their part and win their two remaining games.
“We still have two games to get into the play-offs and we probably need nine points but the minimum is to win the two games,” added Jones. “We probably need other games to go our way but it’s not over yet.”
It will be the fourth time the Ospreys have clashed with the red army this season, Munster the 22-10 victors the two sides last met in the Magners League.
“It’s the fourth time we have played the Ospreys and I am sure they are sick or the sight of us, as we are of them. We know what Munster are going to do
“They are on a roll and have been playing very well and we have to be cautious of them. We have to be direct and keep it simple.
“Had we won the last three games there wouldn’t be as much hype around this game as there is. But when we have to perform, we usually do.”
