The Blues will bring with them a pool of players including a number of senior internationals, the likes of Tom James, Chris Czekaj, Ceri Sweeney, Richie Rees and Deiniol Jones.
Pontypridd will focus on building up momentum following a fine display of running rugby, racking up a huge 0pts to 104 win away at Abercwmboi last weekend.
A number of trialists who showed up well in that encounter – full back Harley Thomson, wingers Kayne Hendrickson and Owen Jenkins and flankers Jordan Sieniawski and Dai Barry – will be given another opportunity to impress. Making a first return in Ponty colours since re-joining the club over the summer will be experienced back rower Dan Godfrey.
A number of Ponty players are still unavailable through injury or holiday commitments, with lock Ryan Savage added to the sick list having suffered a slight calf strain.
