Wales squad offer condolences

The Welsh Rugby World Cup squad have offered their sincerest condolences to the families of the four miners who died in the mining tragedy at the Gleision Colliery.

Wales head coach Warren Gatland, said: “On behalf of the squad and Welsh rugby we would like to offer our sincere condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of the men who died at Gleision Colliery.

“Mining, like rugby, is an industry at the very heart of Welsh culture and these tragic events will affect the entire nation and rightly generate the sympathy of everyone in Wales as well as everyone in Welsh rugby.”
