The trailblazers cruised into the lead after flanker and captain James Parry crashed over for a try, before winger Tom Venn skidded in for his own touch-down.

Fly-half Jack O’Reilley landed the remaining eleven points to ensure a 21-5 win and top spot.

Cwmllynfell kept up the pressure on the league-leaders with a battling performance against high-flying Skewen. The back-three were on song as wing Owen James and full-back Anthony Rees scored the tries to edge their team to a 15-12 triumph.

Maesteg were subjected to a 10-try thrashing by Aberystwyth at Llynfi Road. Wing Rhys Richards bagged a brace for the visitors, centre Jason Rees put in a near-perfect kicking display with nine conversions and flanker Llyr Morris bulldozed to a hat-trick to lead his side to a 68-0 romp.

Elsewhere Kenfig Hill climbed to third in the table with an impressive 27-7 victory at Felinfoel. The Mules were 7-3 behind at the break, but centre Nicky Morgan dived over for a late try to put the game beyond the hosts’ reach.

In Division Three West, Penclawdd’s postponement allowed Haverfordwest to leap to the top of the table with victory at Heywood Lane. Tenby Utd never kept pace with their opponents as centre Dave Williams, prop Rob Evans, wing Matthew Davies and flanker Dane Pindair all crossed before the break. Despite a hint of a United comeback in the second period, Blues centre Ollie Reyland broke clear to finish off a 34-17 triumph.

However Dunvant produced the biggest result of the day as they shocked in-form Cardigan. The tries came from wing Sam Gallagher and flanker Adam Gregory, and Adam Williams put in a virtuoso kicking display to lead his side to a 26-17 win.
