Garland comes from a big rugby-playing family in Vardre, and after leaving the Wizards in his first spell at the club in 2006/07, he played with Swansea and Carmarthen Quins before joining Llandovery in 2011/12.
He has his own laid-back style and has scored 1,091 points in league rugby playing for various clubs.
For the Wizards though, he has made 120 appearances, scored 23 tries, 61 penalties, 179 conversions and 4 drop goals, totalling 663 points.
Over the past decade, the Wizards had the experienced services of Ian Moore and Chris Davies, who both retired in 2016/17. Garland took over the mantel from Ian ‘Buddha’ Moore in 2017/18 after the successful season of reaching the Premiership play-off final.
Yet last season seemed to show a hangover from the 2016/17 season.
“The squad are disappointed with last season so we will be working hard to make sure we are competing at the top end of the league this season,” he said.
“The summer is a good opportunity for our new signings to get up to speed with our structure and hopefully give the current squad a lift ready for the start of the season.
“The way the league is structured this season it is hugely important for us to start the season well.
“Every club in the league will obviously looking over their shoulder with four sides being relegated, but our aim is to be competing at the top of the league,” said Garland.
