The Ospreys got their campaign off to a winning start on Sunday when they travelled to Parc Eirias and came away with a 22-6 victory against RGC.

A try by winger Caine Woolerton gave the Ospreys an early lead but two penalties by fly half Armani Roberts put RGC in front after 25 minutes.

But tries by winger Dewi Cross (converted by Cai Evans) and Ben Cambriani gave the visitors a 17-6 lead at the break.

RGC managed to keep the attacked minded Ospreys at bay until Cambriani scored his second in the dying stages of the match to secure the bonus point victory.

In the other match of this round, Dragons host the Scarlets at Ystrad Mynach. (KO 7.15pm)

For the first time, S4C will be broadcasting Regional U18 Championship matches, starting with Blues v Scarlets at the BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park next Tuesday (January 25) 7.30pm.

The conclusion of the Regional U18 Championship will take place with a double header at Ystrad Mynach on Wednesday 22 February, following which Wales U18 head coach Geraint Lewis will select his Wales U18 squad for the international season.

“The Regional U18 Championship pits the best players from all over Wales against each other and provides an ideal training environment and competitive structure to develop players and identify our Wales U18 squad

“Having matches streamed live and with highlights on Rygbi Pawb will further help to raises the profile of the competition and expose our young players to a professional rugby environment,” said a WRU spokesman.
