In a highly competitive match, the two teams favoured contrasting tactics with Cardiff Met scoring all their tries through their outside backs where wingers Laura Orgill (2) and Caryl Griffiths along with full back Megan Jones crossing while captain Joanne Jones added one conversion.
Whitland however played a very well structured game at forward with the pack dominant in the scrum which allowed their back row to carry effectively with No 8 Becca Norris scoring two tries. She was ably supported by Natalie Walsh and Allana Jones who also touched down.
The game was played in very good spirit with referee Gerard Fenlon officiating the tackle area very well indeed allowing well presented ball to be used effectively throughout by both teams.
Cardiff Met now travel to Caernarvon next Sunday with Whitland entertaining Neath Athletic in the next round of cup matches.
