Tenby close gap at top

Tenby United closed the gap on the top two sides, Newcastle Emlyn and Amman United, in SWALEC Division Three West after their 29-20 home victory over Tumble.

On the other side of the Three West’s standings, strugglers Llandeilo collected their fourth win of the season scoring three tries in the process of beating third-from-bottom Lampeter. Cardigan also won their fourth of the campaign after their 24-14 victory over a Gorseinon side which won three in a row when approaching this clash.

In Division Four West, one of the biggest surprises of the season occurred as Burry Port collected their first win and points of the season. They defeated promotion challengers Hendy, 23-20 to overtake Neyland from last place. In the other game from that division, Furnace and Laugharne shared the points in a 20-20 draw. This was the second draw in the division so far this season.

Gowerton have yet again shown their dominance in Division Five West. Their 24-7 victory against Swansea Uplands means they win eleven from eleven and climb nine points clear over their closest rivals New Dock Stars. The Uplands remain in third place.

In other results in Division Five West, Pontyates collected their third win of the season, having beaten bottom placed Llangwm 22-12. Pembroke remain fourth after their 16-15 win over St Clears while Pembroke Dock Quins lost on their travels to Cefneithin with the result standing at 22-6.

In Division Six West, Tonmawr relied on their kicking after beating Fall Bay 12-3. The result meant that their tenth victory of the season leaves them 15 points higher than their second-place rivals South Gower. Meanwhile, Tregaron enjoy their fifth win of the campaign, beating last place Llansawel 26-0 while Blaina climb up one place to seventh after their 8-7 win over Mynydd y Garreg.
