After a significant break from the Premiership with the cup competitions taking priority, league action returns with both teams looking for a win to keep tabs on league leaders Bedwas.
Pontypridd’s last league fixture saw them enjoy a comfortable home win over Neath while Llandovery battled out an 18-18 draw away to Newport.
Just four points separate the clubs prior to tonight’s game, Pontypridd in second position on 46 and Llandovery in fourth on 42, the latter having played two games more.
At the end of November, Ponty travelled to Church Bank in the Tywi Valley for the reverse league fixture and came away with a 12-19 win.
For tonight’s game, Pontypridd are without prop Keiron Jenkins who is suffering with a bruised chest and hookers Darran Harris and Jack Dando with hamstring and shoulder strains respectively.
Also absent are centre Adam Thomas and flanker Rhys Shellard, away with Wales Sevens, centre Tom Pascoe and prop Bradley Thyer with Wales Under 20 and lock Cory Hill with the Blues senior squad.
For Llandovery, James Garland starts at fly half with Jack Roberts and Matthew Jacobs combining in the centre.
