Expecting the usual postal service, fans were shocked to see Warburton making the ‘special delivery’.
Wales face southern hemisphere sides South Africa, Argentina, Tonga and Australia this November and Warburton was delighted to meet supporters who had purchased tickets.
“It’s great to get out and meet the supporters, especially on their own doorsteps when they are not expecting it,” said the Cardiff Blues and Wales flanker.
“People were pretty surprised to see me, the camera crew and WRU TV team all rocking up at the front of their house, but they all enjoyed it!”
The 24-year-old is currently on-track with his recovery from a hamstring injury and is looking forward to this autumn’s series with Wales.
“International matches seem to come around so often and we have another big campaign just around the corner,” he added. “It will be great to get back to the Millennium Stadium for four home games.
“The players really look forward to being at home. Obviously playing at the Stadium is fantastic, it’s the best stadium in the world, but it’s more than that, it’s being at our training base every week and having the same routine for four weeks. This is the only time that happens and it will be great to be back.
“The next step for this Welsh team is to beat southern hemisphere sides and to have a good autumn.
“We have four big, tough games.
“We kick off first with South Africa and are straight into the deep end and we will all be looking forward to that one. Argentina have improved a lot since being included in the Rugby Championship and we saw that last year when they beat us.
“At the end of the series we have Australia and everyone knows how close we have come in the last few years to beating them so that’s going to be a great finish to the campaign.”
Warburton led the British and Irish Lions to their first series victory in sixteen years this summer and that success, which was shared by 16 Welsh players and seven of the WRU back-room team will stand the squad in good stead according to Warburton.
“We always thought we could beat Australia but being involved with the Lions will hopefully help us get that monkey off our back,” he added.
“I’m sure the crowd will be looking forward to that match as much as the players and the stadium will be amazing.”
