The Swansea-based region made an impressive start to the season but have crashed to three consecutive defeats, including two in the Heineken Cup to leave their European hopes hanging by a thread.
But forwards coach Gibbes has urged his side to bounce back at the Liberty Stadium.
“When you get results like we’ve had in Europe, people will start chucking mud at you,” said Gibbes.
“But the key thing for us as a group is that we don’t care what people say about us.
“What’s important for us is that we get back on the horse and start producing the goods, for ourselves as a team but also for our supporters and the people who have backed us.
“We’re a good rugby team. We just haven’t played well over two games in some areas and it’s cost us.
“Results-wise we are disappointed as a group. We set ourselves some high expectations and we didn’t meet them.
“But there is no panic and the good thing is we’ve got a hell of a lot of rugby ahead of us.
“Where we are now and where we are going to be at the end of the season will be completely different.
“We are disappointed that we haven’t got results in the two Heineken Cup games, but there’s a real air of excitement and confidence about what we’ve got coming up.”
And Gibbes reckons a Welsh derby will be the perfect opportunity to put things right, with the Dragons, under the guidance of former Ospreys boss Lyn Jones a rejuvenated outfit.
“The Dragons game is an opportunity for us to rectify parts of our game,” said Gibbes.
“It’s going to be a good opportunity against a Dragons team that’s going to be fired up to come to the Liberty and knock us over.
“They would have seen us over the past three games and they’ve had a great start and are a hugely competitive side.
“Just look at the results they’ve had. They are going to be coming here, fired up to take us on, and I’m sure they’ll back themselves.”
