PREVIEW: Llandovery v Pontypridd

Ponty lie second placed in the Premiership table just a point behind Ebbw Vale but with a game in hand.

Maintaining a winning record, with a record of five victories from five league games played so far, will be the aim for Ponty on their trip out west.

Games against Llandovery, especially away at Church Bank, are traditionally tough encounters for Pontypridd, having drawn there in the league last season 27pts all and losing a pre-season friendly in August by 35-20.

Pontypridd have lost the services of full back Aled Summerhill, centre Garyn Smith, outside half Simon Humberstone, scrum half Tom Williams and prop Dillon Lewis to the Blues senior squad on LV Cup duty at Newcastle, but are bolstered by the return from injury of winger Owen Jenkins and from a week’s suspension of lock Seb Davies.

The half back pairing of Will Baird and James Whittingham from the Blues Academy are drafted on to the bench.
