Pontypool ended their first half of the season in third place thanks to a bonus point win over RGC1404. There were five tries for the home side, with four of the coming from their strong pack.

Locks Ryan Thomas and Josh Porter then crashed over for further scores before No 8 Matt Thomas rounded off proceedings with try no 5. Clayton Gullis kicked two conversions.
Cardiff Met bounced back after their defeat at Glynneath with a 46-5, bonus point victory over Blackwood that ensured they reached the half-way mark in the season in fourth place in the Championship table. For Blackwood it was a fifth straight defeat.
Newbridge had Kieran Meek to thank for their first league win of the season as he kicked five penalties and converted both his side’s tries in their 29-22 home triumph over fellow strugglers Llanharan.
The visitors scored three tries in an impressive first half display that saw them leap into a 19-10 lead. Rhys Morgan, Josh Austin and Huw Thomas crossed for the Dairymen and Geraint Llewellyn converted two of them.
But two yellow cards in the second half, to hooker Nathan Huish and No 8 Dafi Davies, allowed Newbridge to assert some pressure up front and they made the most of their numerical advantage to turn the game on its head via Meek’s unerring boot and a penalty try.
