Pontypridd kept their Principality Premiership rivals at arm’s length as they cruised to a 27-0 triumph over Ebbw Vale at Sardis Road.

Captain Dafydd Lockyer crossed for the only try of the first-half before a second-half onslaught saw-off the Steelmen. Luke Crocker went over before replacement scrum-half Lloyd Williams completed the try-scoring. Outside-half Simon Humberstone booted 12 points to carry Ponty home.

Cross Keys produced a second-half comeback to deny Llandovery victory at Pandy Park. The Gwent side were trailing by 12 points at the break before Phil Williams, Elliott Jones and Adam Powell crashed over in the second-half. Richard Brookes, Ian Brookes and Richard Rees looked to have won it for Llandovery, but Ethan Davies hit 16 points from his boot to keep the Keys in fourth.

Bedwas were another side to turn a first-half deficit on it’s head. They fought back from 13-3 down at half-time to claim a bonus-point victory thanks to scores from Brynley Toms, Harley Thompson, Lewis Hudd and Stuart Thomas. Chris Lewis had gone over for struggling Bridgend in the first period, but they could not hold on for the triumph.

Newport’s woes continued as they were beaten 23-16 by Cardiff at Rodney Parade. The Black & Ambers led 11-6 at half-time but were powerless to stop Ellis Wyn Benham bagging a brace before William Rees-Hole got the deciding score.

Aberavon leapfrogged Llanelli with a five-try victory over the out-of-form West Walians. A Justin James try meant Llanelli were right in it during the first-half. But a double from scrum-half Rich Carter along with scores from Rob Jones, Ben Thomas and Joe Reeves put the Wizards into seventh. Carmarthen Quins battled to an 18-10 victory over Neath to stay above Cross Keys in third.
