The Swansea Valley side are still in contention to win the SSE SWALEC League 3 West Central C title, as well as the bowl, Swansea Valley and West Wales cups.
Their quest for an unprecedented quadruple kicks off at 1pm at the Millennium Stadium and Ystrad’s Daniel Morgan admits the club are in confident mood.
“We want to win them all,” said Morgan. “We are expecting to win the league, we’ve played 18, won 18 and we face Morriston next Saturday in a winner takes all showdown.
“We have the Swansea Valley cup final to look forward to against Trebanos and we’ve got the West Wales Cup final against Morriston, so we are still in the hunt for a lot of silverware.
“We’ve never done anything like this before, this could be a huge for the club.”
Ystrad are coached by former Scarlets stalwart and Wales international Vernon Cooper, who played for the club at the beginning of this career.
Morgan added: “Vernon has come in and basically taught the boys how to play rugby again.
“He’s taken us back to when we were 10 years old and we should have been shown basic things. We’ve taken a step back to move forwards.”
But standing in Ystrad’s way are a Cambrian Welfare side who are also fighting for the league title in SSE SWALEC League 3 East Central B.
They are 12 points behind league leaders Cilfynyd but with four games in hand over the table toppers.
Outside half Julian Huntley said: “We are in a good place as a club on and off the field.
“It’s been a great cup run and we are still in contention in the league, so there is a lot to play for in a short space of time.
“We’ve worked hard for it. We’ve been getting good numbers to training and people are putting the work in. Once you get that winning feeling as a club you never want it to go. If we could win on Sunday it’s a springboard for the rest of the season in the league.”
The former Treorchy fly-half is one of the few Cambrian players to have experienced playing at the Millennium Stadium before and he is hoping to use all his experience to guide the club to their first bowl triumph.
He added: “I’ve been lucky enough to play here a few times for Treorchy and also Cambrian in the old Brewer’s Cup, so will be my fourth time here. I’m three wins from three so far so I am eager to keep that going.
“It’s such a big occasion and we will all have so many friends and family here, you just want to do well for them and the club.”
