Both teams will be seeking a win to ensure they finish with a record of two wins from three games. South Africa Schools ‘A’ began the series with a narrow defeat to Italy before walloping England 53-14 midweek while Wales began with a defeat to South Africa Schools before securing a deserved win against Italy.
SA Schools A coach Sean Erasmus, who is also the Paarl Boys’ High 1st XV coach, has opted for continuity in selection for their final match as they look to finish the tournament on a winning note.
“We felt that it was important to reward the players for the good form they showed against England, and hopefully we will be able to build on that this week,” said Erasmus.
“Our focus at training has been on getting our game plan to function smoothly and improving our accuracy. Wales are a good side and they very are clinical in their approach, so we will have to be at our best to beat them.”
Wales U18 head coach Geraint Lewis is expecting a tough tour finale tomorrow.
“South Africa Schools A comfortably beat England so that shows the standard of South African rugby and shows we will again have to be at our best to get the performance we want on Saturday,” he said.
“It would be nice to finish off the tour with a positive result but more than anything, it’s important the boys take their chance to get the most out of the experience with Under 20 rugby on the horizon next season.”
