The visitors, making their first trip to Pontypool Park in 15 years, trailed by just seven points at the break following 12 points from fly-half Richard Lewis and a try by wing Adam Williams-Parry.
But Pooler surged clear as Dan Robinson, Josh Hurley, Gareth Rusby-Davies, Max Williams, Rhys Dyer, Callum Davies, Matthew Jones, Marc Tholey and Kieron Meek wrapped up a 69-17 landlside.
Pontypool have now taken 24 points from a possible 25 in their opening five games and moved a point clear of Tata Steel who were made to work hard to maintain their unbeaten start against Skewen.
Mark Harvey and Anthony Buselli scored for Skwen who threatened to pull-off a comeback win, but Tata had enough to hold out for a 17-12 win.
Narberth’s Nick Gale led a one-man demolition of Glamorgan Wanderers with a 28-point haul in Cardiff. Gale crossed for hat-trick of tries and kicked a further 13 points before a late penalty try won by the Otters’ pack clinched a bonus-point.
Newcastle Emlyn recovered from their mauling at Beddau last week as they kept Newbridge at bay in a 20-0 win. Tries from Dan Davies, Ryan Morgans and Tomi Jones ensured their put last weekend’s 69-3 defeat firmly behind with a display of strong finishing and watertight defence. Having been outclassed at Dol Wilber, Newbridge remain at the bottom of the league with just one win to their name.
Bedlinog had too much for Glynneath as they ran out 20-10 winners. Tries from Nathan Huish and Owen Jones as well as ten points from the boot of Ian Smerdon were enough to record their second victory of the season. Dai Jones scored Glynneath’s only try of the match with Jed O’Reilly adding extras from the tee but it was not enough to leave with even a losing bonus point.
Cardiff Met lost ground on the leaders after slipping 23-10 at home to Beddau, who clinched their second win in a row.
