Damion Hudd was the fourth scorer, with Carl Meyer kicking all four successful conversions. Beddau managed just a single penalty in response as they slip to 11th place.
Narbeth ensured they stay in second place with a narrow 10-12 win against Tata Steel. The hosts were in front at half time thanks to a Tony Armstrong try converted by Simon Evans, who also scored a penalty. All Narberth’s points had come from Ianto Griffiths and he added the vital fourth penalty seven minutes into the second half to seal victory.
RGC 1404 slipped up and allowed Bargoed to move above them as they lost 21-13 at Bridgend Athletic. Mike Powell’s try helped his side to victory, with the boot of Steven Lewis, who added a drop goal to his place-kicks enough to secure the win for the hosts who move up to ninth.
Bargoed capitalised with a 13-25 victory away against Pontypool thanks to tries from Luke Smalley, James Pizey and Geraint Edwards. Two of the three tries were converted by Josh Prosser and he added two penalties as his side eased to victory. Josh Hurley managed a try for Pontypool who only trailed by two points at half time but Gullis Clayton couldn’t add to his two penalties and a conversion in the first half.
Bottom of the table Bonymaen picked up just their second win of the season away to fifth place Llanharan. Both sides picked up three tries, Morgan Williams, Will Singer and Jonathan Lewis scoring for the hosts, with two converted by Codey Rhys. John Hyndman ,Rhys Leonard and Joe Millen all grabbed tries for Bonymaen, with two converted by Richie Cuniffe and it was his two penalties which proved the difference.
Blackwood closed the gap on 12th placed Tondu with a narrow victory over their hosts. Matthew Phillips scored the only try for Tondu, which he then converted, but although Matthew Murphy added two penalties it wasn’t enough. Blackwood trailed 13-10 at half time but came roaring back and added to a penalty try and a Matthew McGovern try in the first half. Sean Higgins went over and Paul Emmanueli converted as Blackwood got their second win of the campaign.
Only a point separated Newbridge and Cardiff Met, with Stefan Morgan’s try proving decisive. Owen Thomas scored two penalties for the visitors and Marc Cooke added a third but Keiron Meek’s conversion and penalty made it 10-9 to the home team who remain in 11th, while the Students are still seventh.
