Steve Tandy’s men face the Aviva Premiership heavyweights at the Brewery Field before an away clash at Welford Road in two weeks time.

Allen moved down the M4 from Cardiff Blues this summer after starring for Wales in their victories over Tonga and Samoa. And he cannot wait to wear the black shirt for the first time.

He said: “I’m feeling good, we’ve done our final fitness tests to put an end to pre-season now.

“I’ve got a lot of training and the new calls under my belt and I’m just looking forward to the weekend now. I’m looking to get that match fitness and putting everything I’ve learned into practice.

“I haven’t played at the Brewery field since I played for Cardiff RFC five years ago, I can’t wait to have a run-out.

“In pre-season you focus on your own game, but playing Leicester twice, we’ll know all about them by the second game. It will be good to see how the boys react.”

Allen will be aiming to lay down a marker against the Tigers as he battles for a starting spot with the likes of Ashley Beck, James Hook, Kieran Fonotia and Owen Watkin.

The 24-year-old topped the fitness charts after the final tests of pre-season, and now he is desperate to show Ospreys fans what he can do.

He said: “I’m genuinely really happy here, I’m enjoying my training, playing well and I’m fit so I’ve got no complaints.

“The plan is to get some minutes on the pitch and push for a starting spot. There are lots of good centres here but that’s all part of the challenge.”
