Just a week after downing league leaders Merthyr, Bargoed completed a rousing week. A closely-contested battle saw both kickers put their side ahead as they traded penalties in the first half leaving Bargoed 9-6 ahead at the break.
RGC flanker Andrew Williams finally broke the dead-lock with the game’s first try early in the second half after wing Carwyn Ap Myrddin’s kick chase to lead 13-9. But Bargoed hit back as Keiron Brown and then Grant Rogers crossed to open a 10-point lead before Williams grabbed his second try to set up a thrilling climax but RGC could find a winner.
