The Guinness PRO12 leaders return to league action on Friday when they travel to Edinburgh, still without 20 frontline stars. But after overcoming a Bath team including Sam Burgess and a host of internationals, Ardron believes the youthful Ospreys can grasp their spot in the limelight.
He said: “A win like that is huge. With all those guys stepping in, confidence is something that takes time to build and a win like that can increase it so much.
“Obviously, we are a younger group, but it is exciting as well. It is really driving the standards and everyone is keen to put down their mark, there are people fighting for their roles for the rest of the season.”
The Ospreys crushed a woeful Edinburgh 62-13 at the Liberty Stadium in September, but South African coach Alan Solomons has overseen a strong recovery mission in the Scottish capital and Ardron believes they will face a very different side on Friday night.
He added: “They will have similar players, but they have been together for a while now and they will be more confident in their roles. They have been going well lately and I don’t think they are affected by international calls like other teams.
“Over the next month or so we are playing some of the top teams and Edinburgh are going to be as good as some of the top teams. But in this block, four wins is what we are going in for and what we are expecting.”
