Last season’s SWALEC Plate winners, Merthyr, have been drawn against fellow SWALEC Championship newcomers Glynneath at home in Round One, while Cardiff host Bridgend and Newport take on Aberavon in two other all-Premiership Round One encounters. Neath take on RGC 1404, Bedwas host Pontypool and Llandovery take on Narberth while two other all-Championship Round One clashes see Tondu take on Cardiff Met and Blackwood play Llanharan. Carmarthen, Tata Steel, Ebbw Vale, Newbridge, Swansea and Bridgend Athletic have byes into Round Two.
In the SWALEC Plate, which kicks off on September 27, the winners of last season’s SWALEC Bowl, Clwb Rygbi Cymry Caerdydd, have been rewarded with a home draw against Brecon in Round One, while in Round One of the SWALEC Bowl, which also kicks off on September 27, last season’s Bowl finalists Llantwit Major travel to Treharris.
