  • What time do you usually get up in the morning? 7.30
  • What is your first drink of the day? Water, it is always at the side of my bed
  • What do you usually eat for breakfast? We eat breakfast at the Vale, but before we eat breakfast we have to be weighed, then score how we slept, our mood, our energy levels and report if we have any stiffness. Then for breakfast I have porridge and an omelette with ham, cheese and chorizo.
  • Do you watch the news in the morning? No but I always look on my twitter feed and watch BBC Sport
  • Before heading to training is there anything else you usually do? I always double check I have got all my kit
  • How long does it take you to get to the training ground? Around half an hour, I’m always waiting for Rhys to do his hair
  • Who normally drives? It varies every time, but obviously I’m going to say I’m the better driver.
  • Do you listen to music or the radio on the way into training? I plug my IPod into the car and have my music on shuffle
  • Are you usually one of the first in training – or one of the last? Always the last!
  • On the training pitches do you have any special warm up routines? No, just the normal ones but I think that it is vital that we warm up properly especially in the winter when its cold
  • What aspect of training do you enjoy the most? Everything. When training I’m on the field with my mates and we have a great laugh, I am very lucky to do what I do!
  • Which teammate do you think is the best trainer? Alun Wyn Jones
  • Who do you tend to sit with at lunch? The coaches sit on one table and the players all mix together, we all get on and everyday it varies depending who’s on lunch at that time.
  • Do you always go straight home after training – if not where might you go? I usually go home and just chill but sometimes I go and get a coffee
  • What do you tend to do when you get home? Decides who cooks out of me and Rhys and then sit on the sofa and watch TV
  • Who usually cooks and what meal? I usually cook. Its simple stuff, nothing fancy as we eat a lot at the vale during the day
  • What’s the last thing you do before you go to bed? Watch something from Netflix’s on my IPad, it usually sends me to sleep.
  • 19. What time do you go to bed? Between 11.30 and midnight
  • If you weren’t a rugby player what would you have liked to be? When I was little I always wanted to be a policeman. Or I would like to be a professional golfer.
  • Tell us something we don’t know about you? When I was in primary school I used to play the trumpet
  • What was your inspiration? I’ve been watching rugby for as long as I can remember; I was bought up living in a city where everyone watched it. Every since I was little it was my dream to play in the Millennium Stadium and I guess I am so lucky that my dream has finally come true
  • How often do you go to the gym? Well, in camp we do weights 3 times a week and then we train 6 times a week on the fields.
