The official squad for the Championship, which sees Wales kick-off against Ireland in Dublin on Sunday, 3 February, will be announced later in the month.

“It is vital that we get the players together for this period before the
Championship starts,” said Henry.

“It will be the first time that Steve
Hansen, our new forwards coach, will have the opportunity to work with the
Welsh players and there is much ground to be covered.

“There are some notable ommissions from this training group and I have had
personal contact with each and every one of them to explain the reasons
why.”

The group contains four uncapped players – Cardiff wing Craig Morgan, Newport centre Andy Marinos, Pontypridd hooker Mefin Davies and Neath No 8 Nathan Bonner-Evans.
