Jenkins, who also played for Oxford University, won his first cap in 1933 as Wales gained their first-ever win at Twickenham. He was also the only Welsh full back to score a try until Keith Jarrett in 1967. His score was against Ireland at Cardiff in 1934.
Vivian Gordon James Jenkins won 14 caps for Wales from 1933-39, including the 13-12 win over the 1935 All Blacks at Cardiff. He toured with the British Isles side in South Africa three years later.
His 90th birthday was on November 2 last year and only his 1933 teammate Harry Bowcott is older of surviving Wales players. He won three Blues at rugby and one at cricket, later becoming a journalist with the News of the World and the Sunday Times.
