On loan kicker Gareth Cull can boot Ebbw Vale into the PARKER PEN SHIELD semi-finals tonight and secure his future at Eugene Cross Park.
Cull, on loan from Bridgend, leads the way in the Shield points scoring table with 93, and he knows his kicking could make all the difference to the Steelmen
“I am thoroughly enjoying myself at Ebbw Vale, The coaches and players have been fantastic,” Cull confessed yesterday. “I want to work things out on a more permanent footing with Ebbw Vale and I would be more than happy to stay at the club – its been great for me here. Its nice to feel welcome and hopefully that will continue.”

Gloucester will start hot favourites, home advantage and a strong group performance will give their notorious ‘Shed End’ fans something to sing about.
“Gloucester put 90 points on Caerphilly and perhaps they expect to do the same to us. But if we are still in the game at half-time, their crowd could turn on them and put them under more pressure. ” said Vale coach Mike Ruddock.
The two sides have faced each other in Europe before. In the 1996-7 Shield tournament Gloucester won 59-7, something Cull and co. will hope to reverse this evening.
