Newport Seek To Stay On Top Of The Pile

Newport Rugby will be hoping to hold onto their lead at the top of the Welsh/Scottish League when they travel to Edinburgh on Friday evening.

Simon Raiwalui’s side went to the top of the table following their home victory over Llanelli on January 18th.

Newport have won three of their five games on the road in the Welsh/Scottish League to date this season – at Neath, Caerphilly and Pontypridd.

The last clash between the sides saw a 29 to 11 victory for the Black and Ambers.

New Wales Cap Andy Marinos is picked at centre, but his international teammates, Chris Anthony and Ian Gough, are selected amongst the replacements.

New England A cap Peter Buxton joins Jason Forster and Joe Powell in the back row. Andrew Powell is still injured while Wales A cap Alix Popham, fresh from his loan spell at Leeds Tykes, is on the bench.
