Aberavon Go To The Gallows…

Aberavon will send their part-time stars to the Gallows this week in a bid to upset Cardiff in Saturday’s Principality Cup clash, sponsored by the Principality Building Society.
The First Division front-runners have hired a state of the art the line-out machine from an English-based company and are hoping it will do the trick.
Team manager Eddie Jones said, “The machine resembles a Gallows. I only hope that if we lose on Saturday, the lads will not hang myself and coach Chris O’Callaghan.”
But Jones is confident that they have invested wisely ahead of this weekend’s showdown at the Talbot Athletic Ground.
“It’s an absolute beauty, easy to assemble, vandal-proof, marvellous to use and not a sales gimmick. It is a super machine that will also suit the mini-rugby teams that we run.
“We are using it for the Cardiff game. Both machines are designed for our uncompromising approach to rugby football ! The ball is on a noose and will help our throwers at the lineout.”
O’Callaghan has a word for Cardiff coach Rudy Joubert, stating: “He is quoted as saying that he does not know the way to Aberavon. I can assure him that come 7.00pm on Saturday night, they will know exactly where we are !”
Meanwhile Cardiff have rested most of their international stars for the game. Iestyn Harris, Craig Quinnell, Rob Howley, Martyn Williams and Craig Morgan are all omitted though Rhys Williams plays.
