Swansea V Edinburgh

Swansea V Edinburgh

Swansea v Edinburgh, Saturday 9th March, at St Helen’s, Swansea (kick-off 2.30pm)
Taylor’s return to the Swansea team is welcome news for the Club following a disappointing 2001/2002 season. After aggravating a knee injury during the British Lions’ tour of Australia last summer, Taylor has been forced to watch from the sidelines as Swansea went out of the Heineken Cup, led a disappointing Celtic League campaign and then faced defeat at the hands of Division One side Pontypool in the Principality Cup.
“It’s nice to be back and, hopefully, I can help Swansea improve in the Welsh-Scottish League and win a place in Europe,” said the 30-times capped former Wales skipper. “It has been frustrating to watch for me. We just seem to have had one of those things where everything has gone wrong.”
Taylor is looking forward to running out on Saturday, but stressed that he has not rushed his return.
“I did rush back after my previous injury and didn’t get the rehabilitation time I needed.
“This time I have done a lot more work on the injury and I know, mentally, that the leg is sound. So it is just a matter of getting my game up.
“I am delighted to be involved again, and I have been part of the training sessions all week, so things are going to plan.”
