Howarth To Start For Glasgow
Calvin Howarth will make his first start for Glasgow in the Welsh/Scottish
League match against Neath at The Gnoll tomorrow Saturday 13 April.
The stand-off, who is on loan from Edinburgh, was a second-half replacement in Glasgow’s game against Bridgend at Hughenden on Wednesday, kicking a penalty goal in the 21-16 win.
Glasgow have only two changes in the starting line-up from that midweek match.
Howarth replaces Graeme Kiddie at outside half, and Cameron Blades, a first-half replacement for David Hilton against Bridgend, remains at loose head.
It will be the Australian prop’s first start since his shoulder injury in mid October.
Kiddie has been released from the Glasgow squad to play for the Scottish Thistles in the Melrose sevens tomorrow.
So has Gareth Flockhart, who also was a second-half replacement against Bridgend.
Fraser Stott, East Kilbride’s former Glasgow scrum half, has been recalled to the squad as a stand-by in the continuing absence of Andy Nicol and Chris Black. Kenny Sinclair, who was on duty as replacement scrum half on Wednesday, will be playing for Glasgow Hawks in the Melrose sevens.
Tomorrow’s Neath match will kick off at 2.00pm, half an hour earlier than originally scheduled.
