Neath Aiming To Stay Top Of The League
Neath coach Lyn Jones is expecting a huge forward battle when his table-topping side meet PARKER PEN SHIELD finalists Pontypridd at The Gnoll on Friday night (kick-off 7.05pm).
“We have been looking forward to this game for a long time,” said Jones, who has selected a 22 man squad for the game.
“We felt we had a rough deal in the close run match at Sardis Road in March, and we are determined to put that right.
“Pontypridd’s success in the PARKER PEN SHIELD has made us even more determined to get the result.
“They have developed an enthusiastic approach to forward play, and we will have to meet and beat them up front if we are to win the match.
“If we do not keep them on the back foot, they have an extremely dangerous back line that is capable of causing any team problems.”
Neath currently lead the Welsh/Scottish League on try count from Llanelli, although they have played one game extra.
Supporters are advised to arrive early on Friday night as the “open stand”
has been removed due to the start of the cricket season.
