The girls and women in attendance were given a further boost with current Welsh internationals, prop forward Hannah Roberts and wing three quarter Heledd Stevens assisting at the session.
In view of the recent bad weather the second session was held at the Pencoed Comprehensive School gymnasium, and again proved most productive.
Training sessions will now take place on a weekly basis, every Sunday, when prospective players should meet at Pencoed RFC clubhouse for 2pm, in particular 15/18 year olds to increase the 18 and under squad numbers though all ages and abilities are urged to attend.
A healthy structured training programme will now take place, with qualified coaches ensuring skill progression, and offering advice on technique.
Organised social events for the players and friends are also arranged for the forthcoming months.
It is anticipated an 18 and under friendly will take place on Easter Sunday (4th April ) against club visitors Kettering at the Recreation Ground. This will be a momentous occasion, which should not be missed by players or supporters, as this will be the first organised match between two womens sides in the history of the club.
In the longer term there is the opportunity for the aspiring players to progress to regional, and who knows National level!
