Ponty Praise Howells

Ponty Praise Howells

Pontypridd’s young outside half sensation Ceri Sweeny has spoken out in praise of head coach Lyn Howells.
Pontypridd’s season has turned around since he joined the club last December, and now the Valley Commandos find themselves with the honour of competing in two cup finals in one season.
“I think Ponty have been successful in the second half of the season because Lyn has come to the club.
“I think Lyn has organised the team so everybody knows their role and what they are supposed to be doing.
“It makes it easier, the one to ones are a lot more precise, he’s an experienced coach and he knows what he’s talking about.”
Flanker Richard Parks is in agreement,
“Lyn has been fantastic. He’s really turned the club around to be honest. The players are working that much harder now.”
And they will have to work hard if they are to stop the likes of Madden and Quinnell in the Principality Cup, and then Cueto and Robinson in the PARKER PEN SHEILD final next week, and Sweeney knows that victory, and with it automatic qualification to next seasons Heineken Cup, would be a major achievement,
“It’d be a great achievement to win the PARKER PEN SHIELD, even though it does play second fiddle to the Heineken Cup, there are so many very good sides in the tournament that it would be amazing to win the trophy,” added Sweeny.
Pontypridd take Llanelli in the Princiaplity Cup final in the Millennium Stadium this weekend. Then they face Sale Sharks in the final of the PARKER PEN SHEILD on Sunday 26th of May at the Kassam Stadium Oxford.
