The Dragons got off to a perfect start when Megan Daley took the ball on a long arcing run down the blindside, beating several players on her way under the posts.

The first half was scrappy with the Blues having most of the pressure and the territory but failing to connect with the final pass and despite dominating the first half the Blues found themselves 5-0 down at the break.

A half time shuffle saw the pack strengthened, this seemed to have an immediate impact – both at ruck and scrum time. Blues forwards Chloe Mulligan and Jodie Minett produced outstanding second half displays.

It what can only be described as a complete second-half turn around, the inside back combination of Jess Pritchard, Megan Jones and Jennie Collins produced a breathtaking display of running and support rugby.

As soon as the Blues managed their first try there was no looking back, a sneaky chip by Pritchard lead to a gather by the fleet-footed Jones who used her pace and quick feet to gather and score under the sticks. This was followed by some excellent phase and interplay by forwards and backs and a try for Martha Setchfield in the left corner. The Blues kept the pressure up and as the match went on the tiring Dragons were overwhelmed by the buoyant Blues, Jones crossing twice more and Collins over for another excellent team score.

In what was a stand-out second-half performance by Megan Jones her ball playing was probably only eclipsed by her kicking display, managing to superbly convert from all angles and finishing with an excellent four from five shots and 23.
