Llanelli seek momentum

Nottingham chief Glenn Delaney is looking forward to heading to Wales this weekend for a high-octane encounter action against a hugely motivated Llanelli side.

The game will be played on a heated pitch at the Parc y Scarlets stadium where the Welsh Premiership club will be looking to remain in pole position in Pool B after two wins from two this campaign.

Nottingham are the top-placed English side in the group with five points, having played a game less than Munster and Llanelli who currently sit above them.

Speaking from Meadow Lane, the kiwi Director of Rugby said: “We’ll be playing a side who will really be up for this game, they’ve already shown in victories over Munster and Esher that this is a tournament they really feel they can go out and win.

“It will be an occasion for us to go out and really test our capabilities against a side with some solid home support, we’ll have a very equipped team to go out there and do a good job.

“The Welsh teams we play in this competition always battle with massive pride and are never easy to beat–we know we’ll have to be on our top game to take the points.”

Phil Eggleshaw, who last week led the side to victory in the absence of Craig Hammond, is set to be named in the squad again this weekend. He said: “It will be a great trip for us, not only for the fantastic experience, but also the opportunity it will provide to prove ourselves against a very good side.”
