The Officers will be out watching club and school games with the aim of identifying talented young players. The age group to be targeted is U14s / Yr 9 therefore the staff will aim to watch every school and club side at this age group to make sure they do not miss any players.

This process started back in the summer with 170 players coming in for skills afternoon with Ospreys Development Staff and Regional Players Tom Prydie and Will Taylor. The process continued during October half term when over 180 players were invited in for skills and games activities.

It is now the turn of the staff to go out and watch games to finalise their squad selections by January. The squads selected will train once a week for 10 weeks and play three games towards the end of March.

These Centres of Development will be established to underpin the existing Dewar Shield Sides at U15s. The aim will be for squads of approximately 45 players.

The U14s is the start of the pathway for a player to reach his potential.

Please contact the local Development Officer if you require more information.
