Hines gives Hadden selection headache

Nathan Hines is the latest injury concern for Frank Hadden as he prepares to name the 22 that will take on Wales in the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.

Hines had to sit out training as the calf injury he sustained during last weekend’s 17-7 defeat to France continues to trouble him.

Hadden has already lost Rory Lamont for the trip to Cardiff. The 25-year-old full-back/wing has been withdrawn with injuries to his left shoulder and left ankle. And ahead of naming his squad on Wednesday, Hadden now has to wait to see how Hines’s calf holds up after his first training session

Team Doctor James Robson expects Hines to be able to resume training tomorrow.

Nine players have been added to those who were on duty against France, meaning he will trim down his current 31 man squad to the required 22 tomorrow.

The nine were on duty with the Scotland A team during their 37-15 win against the Italians on Sunday. They are: Moray Low, Alastair Kellock and Graeme Morrison (all Glasgow Warriors), Phil Godman, Ben Cairns, Calum MacRae and Craig Hamilton (all Edinburgh), Alasdair Strokosch (Gloucester) and Simon Danielli (Ulster).
