Dai Young didn’t hide his disappointment following the narrow defeat to Leinster but says his side are still in with a shout of the Magners League title.

The Blues stormed into a 14-point lead but the Irish outfit fought back to grab a crucial win and now lead the table by six points from the Scarlets, leaving them eight points ahead of the Blues.

And Head Coach Young admitted it was difficult to watch his side crash in a disastrous second half in Dublin. Young said: “It’s always a huge test to come here and win but we’re hugely disappointed.

“It was a game of two 20 minute periods. Our accuracy, control and composure was brilliant in the first 20 but we lacked it in the last 20 minutes.

“Leinster are a quality outfit and their results against the likes of Toulouse suggest that. But we’re disappointed especially because of the amount of try scoring opportunities we created.

“We had chances to win the match and we should have won it considering the start we had. We spoke at half-time that we needed to get more control of the ball and not look for the miracle pass. But we were forced to defend for long periods and Leinster must take credit for that.

“Now we’ve left ourselves a huge mountain to climb to win the league. But everything’s not lost and we won’t give up.”
