Newport came from behind to secure a late 19-22 victory over Cross Keys at Pandy Park. Replacement flanker Richard Dale scored the Black and Amber’s only try with outside half Daniel Griffiths on kicking duty to slot a conversion and five penalties – including the 77th minute match-winner.

Scrum half Chris Anderson was the hero at the Memorial Ground as Cardiff continued their great escape with a 10-41 hammering of Glamorgan Wanderers. The Black and Blues ran-in an impressive eight tries including a brace for Anderson who bagged a 21-point haul.

Tomos Marks kicked Llandovery out of immediate danger as they dispatched Carmarthen Quins 30-20. Outside half Marks bagged a match-winning 20 points from the boot to lift the Drovers out of the relegation zone.

Jason Pocock was on target again with two conversions and a penalty as third-placed Pontypridd defeated visiting Bedwas 20-16 at Sardis road. Outside half Bryan Shelbourne kicked 22 points to help Ebbw Vale off the bottom of the table in a crucial 52-25 win over fellow strugglers Pontypool, and a Paul Mackay brace helped Llanelli to a 33-41 win over Swansea at St Helens.
