The Arms Park side move two points clear of favourites Ebbw Vale and Neath who enjoyed a day off. Centre Gareth Chapman’s try after seven minutes started the rout for Cardiff and was well supported by second half scores by Adam Powell, Nathan Rees and fourteen points from Leigh Halfpenny.

Pontypridd pulled off a valuable 20-16 away win at Glamorgan Wanderers to go level on points despite being reduced to thirteen men. Yellow cards for forwards Nathan Strong and Leighton Davies put the visitors in big trouble on thirty minutes but Adam Thomas’s brace of tries including the winner with just four minutes left grabbed the victory.

Newport scrum-half Alex Walker also scored two tries to secure a tight 19-14 home win over Cross Keys.
