WRU Chief Executive David Moffett said: ‘I am delighted that we can announce the extension of the BBC’s contract. The BBC is an important partner of the WRU and we see this as a hugely positive step for the WRU and the BBC. It is a boost for fans of rugby for years to come where Celtic rugby is concerned.’

Scotland’s and Ireland’s international are also covered by the new five-year deal. The BBC also has the rights to all Six Nations matches until the end of the decade.

Wales’s Internationals against South Africa, Romania, New Zealand and Japan this November will be shown live on BBC Wales.
